The Center for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
Back and neck pain are disabling ailments and can be major detriments to one’s quality of life. Fortunately, it has been shown that three out of four patients who suffer from back or neck pain do improve without surgery within the first three months of the issue. However, for those patients who do not improve there is often a tendency to delay proper care for a number of reasons. One reason I have found for this delay is the presumed stigma surrounding back and neck surgery.
Today there is a significantly greater understanding of spine-related conditions due to specialized training and new technologies that have been recently developed in the industry. Spine surgery has also evolved considerably over the past few years as a result of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) treatment options. The goal of MIS is to create a path to fix the patient’s problem with the least amount of damage to the patient’s normal structure.
As an MIS spine surgeon, I always make the following promises to my patients:
- I will meet with you and evaluate you as a suffering human being who deserves pain relief and better quality of life
- I will give you the time you deserve during your visit and ensure that I full explain your problem and options in a clear manner
- I will treat you by using the most novel principles and technologies, though not as an experiment
- I will not offer you any treatment that I would not, or have not, used on my immediate family members and closest friends
I look forward to seeing you and putting you on the path to meaningful recovery.
